Morris Claiborne, CB Louisiana State University (HT- 6’0 WT- 185)
Positives- Morris is the ideal size and has comparable strength to play at a high level in the NFL. He has natural and fluid hips, and rarely takes a miss-step. Morris excels in both man to man and zone coverage, being able to jam and run with any receiver he has matched up against. Morris has elite level instincts and Quarterback eye reading ability….he times his jumps and interception moves perfectly. He is a two-way player, averaging nearly 30 yards per kickoff return, showing his quick and elusiveness.
Negatives- Morris does struggle to show consistency in jamming and press coverage…when he tried to overpower a receiver, he can get off balance, but is able to make up for it (on occasion) to make up for it with his speed. Needs to add weight to his frame and work on his tackling technique (he lacks upper body strength).
