Justin Blackmon, WR Oklahoma State Scouting Report

Justin Blackmon, WR Oklahoma State [HT-6’1 WT-215 4.55 projected 40]

Positives-  Justin is a large bodied Wide Receiver with Elite level hands and body control…Above average and boarder lining on Elite level athleticism will allow Justin to run the corner and fade routes in the Red Zone…Very natural and gifted Athletically, plays hard every play and doesn’t take one off, he tries to the best out there and it shows in both is on and off the field preparation…Justin can make all the catches and is able to shred the zone coverage and is strong enough to battle off press coverage.

Negatives- Justin struggles to get separation in man to man due to his raw route running ability…Doesn’t possess Elite tier speed off the line, but picks it up in stride…Needs to look the ball in before thinking or making his cuts, causes him to drop passes (see Iowa State game 2011)…Needs to do some maturing and do less show boating (has improved his off the field issues since his DUI).
